TÍTULO: Asphalt Pavements
AUTOR: Devendra Damale
RESUMEN: Asphalt pavements are easy to maintain, quick to construct, and provide a safe, smooth, quiet ride. Simply put, asphalt pavements provide the greatest level of drivability at the most economical price. Asphalt pavement refers to any paved road surfaced with asphalt. Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) is a combination of approximately 95% stone, sand, or gravel bound together by asphalt cement, a product of crude oil. Asphalt cement is heated aggregate, combined, and mixed with the aggregate at an Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) facility.

TÍTULO: An Introduction to Traffic Flow Theory
AUTOR: Shaithis Orlov
RESUMEN: Transportation is generally concerned with the efficient, safe, and sustainable movement of people and goods. Transportation engineers work on various aspects of the five stages essential in the life cycle of a transportation facility: planning, designing, building, operating, and maintaining. In the planning stage, we typically forecast traffic demands for a future year/analysis period, perform a preliminary evaluation of alternative solutions, or identify priorities for system improvements.

TÍTULO: Discrete Simulation and Animation for Mining Engineers
AUTOR: Arvind Kumar
RESUMEN: The mining industry globally is moving towards exploiting more mineral deposits by underground methods for several reasons. Large scale underground block/panel caving mining methods are becoming more popular due to the low operating costs associated with economies of scale. However, the planning for a caving mine is very challenging. Simulation techniques have been used successfully by many industries for a long time.
